March of Solidarity in Sioux Lookout on May 29, 2008 The event started at the Nishnawbe Gamik Friendship Centre parking lot with an opening ceremony and drumming. The march headed east on King, turned south at 3rd Ave, west on Front, stopped at Centennial Park where Father Mike Mahoney of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church spoke and continued on down Front St. At 6th Ave marchers turned north and stopped at the doors of the Youth Centre where Donna Prior, representing the St. Andrews United Church spoke and then turned east on King and ended up back at the Friendship Centre. At the Friendship Centre we heard from Garnet Angeconeb, SLKT town councillor David Gordon and the event co-ordinator Charles Williams . The event finished with a song from Romaine Wesley and prayer from Bill Morris. Refreshments were served inside the FC.
