Diabetes Progress Report

The Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) is currently working on a Diabetes Progress Report to assess federal, provincial and territorial government policies and programs for people with diabetes. One section of the report features Canadians with diabetes and their personal stories in living with the disease.

Breaking the Moodle Mould creating new e-learning opportunities for First Nation students

This spring, Fernando Oliveira and Angela Batsford are teaming up to create an online course for the Ned Supplementary Online Courses Program (www.ned.knet.ca). The Learning Strategies course (GLS10) will be offered to grade 8 students in First Nation schools across Ontario starting in the fall of 2010. This “reach-ahead” program will allow grade 8 students to attain a grade 9 half-credit.

A federal program that subsidizes the shipping of nutritious, perishable foods by air to remote northern communities will be awarded to three retailers instead of Canada Post, CBC News has learned.
