The federal government is exploring a voluntary regime of private ownership of reserve lands in Canada. This is an idea that is premature and short-sighted.

OTTAWA, Sept. 21 /CNW/ - Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo, Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation Chief Gilbert W. Whiteduck and national AFN youth representative Kluane Adamek announced a week of nation-wide advocacy efforts in support of action on First Nations education during a press conference on Parliament Hill today.

The intern will coordinate online Lands and Resources workshops and complete reports for the project. Maintain training website and support video conferencing gatherings. Assist with community visits, interviews and surveys. Draft and submit proposals. This is a training and work experience program funded in part by NOHFC.

Thunder Bay, ON, Sept. 14 - Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Grand Chief Stan Beardy has officially called foul on the province of Ontario. In recent weeks, leading up to this Thursday's third reading of Bill 191 - The Far North Act in the Provincial Legislature, Ontario has repeatedly attempted to put a positive spin on the Bill attempting to misguide general public understanding of the First Nation perspective on the proposed legislation.
