Ambulance gets delivered to Sandy Lake on winter road

Sandy Lake has its own ambulance. Ron Kyle arrived in Sandy Lake via the winter road on April 4th after driving the used ambulance 2,500 km from Toronto.

The 26-year veteran of the Toronto firefighter service returned to Sandy Lake on Monday, April 6th - this time to meet with Chief and Council to discuss and assess what other resources could benefit the community.

Sandy Lakers walk the winter road for prayer and healing: raises $5,000

Approximately 17 community members walked 50 km on the winter road yesterday in an effort to bring prayer and healing to the community.

The prayers were for community members who are sick and in poor health and for those who are struggling with drug and alcohol addictions, said Eddie Kakepetum, one of the walk's organizers.
