We are proud to announce that our daughter Aimee Williams, from Kashechewan won the Write to Read Contest for the Ontario region.

This contest is held by A National family literacy project by World Literacy of Canada.

ALGOMA UNIVERSITY IS ONTARIO’S NEWEST UNIVERSITY

SAULT STE. MARIE – Legislation creating Algoma University, Ontario’s newest university, passed third and final reading today in the Ontario legislature.

Algoma University, in Sault Ste. Marie, is Northern Ontario’s fourth university,proudly joining the ranks of Laurentian, Lakehead and Nipissing. 

Poplar Hill First Nation's Abe Scatch Memorial School wins Indigo Love of Reading Grant!

Abe Scatch Memorial School has been selected as an Indigo Love of Reading School for 2008.  Teachers, Kristin Ward, and Kirsten Ryan put together the application package in December 2007, and received a phone call yesterday announcing their success.  The school will receive $33,000 over the next 3 years to purchase new books for the school.
