The Oshki-Pimache-O-Win Education & Training Institute is pleased to announce the following program which will start in January 2009:  

PRE-HEALTH SCIENCES ONE-YEAR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The development of the ‘new and integrated’ Pre-Health Sciences One-Year Certificate Program is in progress. Oshki-Pimache-O-Win in partnership with Confederation College will be offering this program starting January 2009.  This program aims to create a strong science foundation for the students.  Curriculum is being designed to prepare and strengthen the students skills and knowledge in mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics.

 

The program will enable First Nations people, who are high school graduates or mature students wishing to increase their knowledge in science and mathematics or students who wish to obtain the prerequisites necessary for admission to a Health Sciences related program at post-secondary level.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

The Pre-Health Sciences Program will begin in January 2009 in a modular format through a combination of intensive one-week on-campus session and independent distance study supported by evening tele/videoconferences and e-learning tools.  This program may be extended to allow for additional on-campus sessions.  

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

1.     An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (with Gr. 12 English) OR

2.     General Education Development Certificate - GED (or equivalent) OR3.     Successful completion of another post-secondary program OR4.     Mature Student Status which requires successful completion of a mature student test
