Who should attend?

The Indigenous Youth Policy Forum on Engagement is for First Nations youth who are interested to shape policy that will create meaningful engagement opportunities at all levels of planning and decision making. The forum is open to youth 13-29.  Youth under 18 years must be chaperoned and supervised by a responsible adult.

What you can expect?

  • Free Registration & Meals
  • Youth Led Event: youth facilitators, speakers, etc.
  • Open Forum: Meaningful Dialogue and Mutual Understanding Workshops, Youth Panels and Guest Speakers
  • Outdoor and Indoor Community Building Exercises

Your input is very important.  It affects your life! Join a network of Youth and Youth Groups who are interested to create youth policy.  You have a voice, let it be heard!

What you will learn?

  • Rights of Engagement:  The inherent rights and responsibilities of indigenous young peoples.
  • Policy Making: Learn how policy is created and how you can use policy to make positive changes.
  • Youth Empowerment and Development: Youth engagement ideas to get youth   active in your community.
  • Traditional Knowledge:  Learn indigenous history, ceremonies, protocols, culture and traditions.  Elder Advice:  All ladies, please bring a skirt for the ceremonies.
