CRTC launches online consultation on basic telephone and Internet services
OTTAWA-GATINEAU, July 23, 2010 — The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) today launched an online consultation to hear the views of Canadians about their access to basic telephone and Internet services. This consultation is part of a proceeding that will include a public hearing beginning on October 26, 2010, in Timmins, Ontario.
Keewaytinook Okimakanak is seeking a Lands and Resources Researcher to support First Nation projects through training, research and reporting.
The intern will coordinate online Lands and Resources workshops and manage reporting and budgeting for the project. Maintain training website and support video conferencing gatherings. Assist with community visits and gatherings. Draft and submit proposals. Data analysis, reporting and prepare presentations. This is a training and work experience program funded in part by NOHFC.

The Chippewas of Rama First Nation were denied their appeal application to the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) regarding the 35% Casino Rama revenue case on July 8.
As a result of the SCC's decision, all avenues of appeal have been exhausted.
