National Aboriginal Role Model Program: Role Model Nomination Call

Ottawa, ON (November 28, 2007) —– The National Aboriginal Health Organization (NAHO) is once again searching for Canada’s best and brightest Aboriginal youth for nomination to the 2008-09 National Aboriginal Role Model Program (NARMP).

The program, which has been organized by NAHO for the past four years, aims to highlight the accomplishments of Inuit, First Nations and Métis youth aged 13 to 30. The program’s theme is “Lead Your Way!”

An international gathering hosted by the Asian office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is being held in the remote, fly-in community of Bario this week. Visit http://www.ebario.com to learn more about this special community located in Malaysia.

UN kicks off Bali climate change conference

Dec. 3 2007 - About 10,000 delegates from nearly 190 countries are in Bali today for a massive UN conference on climate change. The focus of the conference is to begin negotiations on a pact to replace the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012.
