Employment Opportunity - HEALTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT

The Keewaytinook Okimakanak Health Program is seeking an individual to assist in carrying out services to its member First Nations in the area of health programming. This individual will be supervised by the Health Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist First Nations Health Coordinators with setting up and maintaining the health programs at the community including, but not limited to Brighter Futures and Long Term Care
  • Assist with updating community health needs assessments
  • Assist First Nations in establishing and providing health training programs
  • Assist in the development of proposals for community based initiatives
  • Assist in all other health department duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary education in nursing or social services preferred
  • minimum 2 years experience in the health field in the area of delivery of community based programs or equivalent
  • experience in facilitating workshops and training small groups
  • good writing skills for proposals, workplans and reports
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to travel extensively in the North
  • knowledge of First Nations in Treaty 5 & 9, an asset

SALARY Commensurate with experience

Employment Opportunity - ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

Keewaytinook Okimakanak is seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual to work in the Finance Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General Ledger maintenance, including updating accounts and creating reports
  • preparation of financial reports for management, the board, and funding agencies
  • to assist with providing technical and analytical support in financial reporting for programs
  • maintain filing system of all contracts, contribution agreements, lease agreements, purchases and any other financial commitments
  • prepare Accounts Receivable/Invoicing to Industry Canada, FedNor, NOHF, and other funding agencies
  • assist in all other finance department duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • proven experience working in the accounting field, non profit accounting preferred
  • post secondary education in business, accounting, and/or commerce
  • experience working with computerized accounting packages, spreadsheets, and word processing
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills; good communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of First Nations in Treaty 5 & 9, an asset

SALARY Commensurate with experience
