The Harper government is quietly setting the stage for a landmark move that could pump millions of dollars worth of investment into reserves across the country and mark a change in the relationship between Ottawa and Canada's First Nations, iPolitics has learned.
Recently, I spoke on Wawatay Radio regarding one of the more vital issues concerning our People. It is my prayer some of our Chiefs will take up this call and lead the charge.
Prescription Drug Abuse got little attention at the recent Special Chiefs of Ontario Meeting. I was encouraged to seek support from our own People before coming back to the Chiefs to seek their support for Biblical-based Treatment Programming.

OTTAWA, Dec. 9 /CNW/ - Assembly of First Nations National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo welcomed the announcement today by Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada John Duncan committing the Government of Canada to work in collaboration with First Nations to improve First Nations education.
NOTE: It is interesting to see these "writers" who make their living taking hand outs from First Nation governments and other groups critizing others who live in poverty and who struggle to create opportunities in third world conditions. It would be interesting for "researchers" and writers to document the billions in hand outs that urban-based corporations and institutions get in the form of tax cuts and grants. But then it might be tough to be biting the hand that feeds them.
