The Oshki-Pimache-O-Win Education & Training Institute is an innovative, independent institution that offers post-secondary education and training programs to the people in Nishnawbe Aski Nation and other learners. We are looking for a highly energetic and dynamic individual for the position of Academic Administrative Assistant.
As a team member, the successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to provide support to the Student Success Initiative and in the delivery of postsecondary program offerings. Reporting to the Program & Student Service Coordinator, the Academic Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support and general office assistance to ensure the proper functioning of the Student Success Initiative and the Institute. Other responsibilities will include: prepare documents and reports for copying and distribution; organize and maintain an up-to-date student filing; prepare student travel and advisory committees; assist in program scheduling, application and registration processes and delivery logistics; and provide assistance to the staff of the Institute when required. A job description is available on request. Qualifications:
- Office Administration Diploma, (or equivalent)
- Experience of 1 to 3 years in a secretarial/administrative position;
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task;
- Provide assistance to public inquiries;
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Word and other software programs;
- Willing and able to travel to the communities in the NAN territory;
- Fluency in either Oji-Cree or Cree would be an asset.
