Keewaytinook Okimakanak / Northern Chief Council is looking for a Nurse Supervisor for the Home and Community Care (HCC) program

Description:

This is a full time, 35-hour workweek position based out of Balmertown.  The HCC Nurse Supervisor is a combined position of part-time Supervisor and part-time Home Care Nurse to the Keewaytinook Okimakanak (KO) communities.  The Nurse Supervisor will report to and work under the direct supervision of the KO Director of Health Services.

Job Overview:

  • Supervision of clinical practice of unregulated health care workers
  • Assessments and reassessments based on client needs
  • Develop a goal based, client centred, nursing care plan
  • Implement nursing interventions and continually assess home care client progress using nursing procedures
  • To participate in the planning and provision of in-service to Home Care staff
  • Confer with health care team ensuring client needs are being met
  • Document and communicate client data as per protocol

Qualifications:

  • A Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses Ontario.
  • 2 years' experience delivering nursing care in the home or community setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills and experience in adult education training.
  • Ability to prepare and submit reports.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 5 years' experience nursing in remote First Nation communities.
  • Able to speak Ojibway, Oji-cree or Cree, but not necessary.

Salary will be dependent on qualifications and work experience.
