2 Positions Available

Lands & Resources GIS Technician

Develop GIS setup to print maps, input data and provide a help desk for First Nation planners in remote communities by distance. Coordinate training by video conference and update websites.

Video Editor

Produce and edit video footage of community lands and resources events. Conduct interviews and post videos online. Create training material for First Nation videographers and youth to post their own videos.

Training Objectives
Interns will develop knowledge and skills regarding: the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), mapping, video conferencing, video filming and editing, community-based research, government procedures, budgeting and First Nation procedures. 

 Qualifications

• 1. Intention to return to full-time education at college or university
• 2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 3. Ability to work under minimal supervision
• 4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• 5. Demonstrated ability to learn technical applications
• 6. Ability to speak Oji-Cree, Ojibway or Cree is an asset.
• 7. Must be 29 years of age or under to meet HRSDC eligibility.
