Executive Director

Under the direction of the Regional Board of Directors of the Ahki Pimadizewening Weecheewaywin Healing Centre, the Executive Director will be responsible for the Program Services Delivery and the Management. The Executive Director will be accountable to Nishnawbe Aski Nation and the Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy in program management and operations.

Statement of qualifications;

  • Post secondary degree in Health Administration, Nurising or addictions related degree or related Management Exeperience of at least three years.
  • Knowledge of the Medical Services Branch
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Family Services Act and Policies of the Ministry of Commmunity, social and Family Services.
  • Experience in a management of Treatment Programs and specific knowledge about Solvent Abuse required.
  • Demonsrated competence and experience in managing people, projects and operations.
  • Extensive knowledge about sources of funding for Health Programs and Training.
  • Extensive proposals and report writing skills required.
  • Must be able to develop a case management model for the effective and appropriate delivery of services within the Healing Centre.
  • Must be able to provide leadership and supervision to the staff and ensure they're active and productive involvement in the Treatment Porgram.
  • Knowledge of First Nations Culture and an ability to speak Ojibway an asset.
