Kwayaciiwin Education Resource Centre is hosting 4 Summer Institutes in Sioux Lookout From August 23 to 25:

Summer Institute for Junior Kindergarten Teachers
3 days, Aug. 23, 24, 25
Participants: All J.K. teachers for in-service of new J.K. Program

Summer Institute for Native Language Teachers
3 days, Aug. 23, 24, 25
Participants at this Institute must be fluent in Anihshiniimowin.

Summer Institute on Literacy and Numeracy
(also including Student Retention and Technology)
Participants: K-8 teachers
3 days, Aug. 23, 24, 25

Summer Institute for High School Teachers
2 days, Aug. 24 & 25 (1 day on literacy & numeracy, 1 day on technology)
Participants at this Institute will be teachers from the on-reserve high schools (i.e. Pikangikum, Deer Lake, Kasabonika, Kitchinumaykoosib Inniniwug, Wunnumin)
The J.K. and Native Language Summer Institutes are restricted to people who will be teaching in these positions in the fall.
Please note that Immersion teachers will not be attending the Summer Institutes this year. They received PD through an Immersion Workshop in May.
