Mentoring Coordinator for Aboriginal Women’s Mentoring Program at PARO in Thunder Bay

PARO Centre for Women's Enterprise invites applications for the position of Mentoring Coordinator for the Aboriginal Women’s Mentoring Program.  

The Mentoring Coordinator is responsible for the project delivery of a comprehensive Women’s Mentoring Program serving Aboriginal women in need of business leadership training and linking to strategic networks, as well as connecting to other women and community leaders to help them identify action steps to achieving their goals. 

The Mentoring Coordinator is responsible for coordination and operation of videoconferencing, program and technology development, marketing and creating collaborative community partnerships in support of the Project, including, but not limited to, implementation of video conferencing, online workshops, e-learning, and web-based program; scheduling use of project technology; development of screening protocols and training curriculum for mentors and mentees; and coordination of Peer Circles and Lending, serve as liaison to the Advisory Committee that includes stakeholders from rural and remote Aboriginal communities; and ensure effective Leadership training and service delivery. 

With Post Secondary Education in a related field, you have:
·         Experience with mentoring programs, leadership, and coaching/counseling training or related experience
·         Experience working with Northern Aboriginal communities, and First Nations
·         Background and knowledge of Aboriginal and women’s issues
·         Expertise in delivery via video conferencing and other online related methods
·         Ability to speak French and/or Ojibwe or Oji-Cree a definite asset  

POSITION REQUIRES: A valid driver’s license, excellent communication and analytical skills, and an ability to accommodate competing demands and to meet deadlines.
