QUOTES
"Far North First Nations have clearly expressed their concerns regarding their ability to benefit from future opportunities in resource-based industries. This program helps address this capacity issue in a practical way and will lead to increased employment as well as addressing skill training needs related to community based land use planning."
– Linda Jeffrey, Minister of Natural Resources
"This skills training program will help ensure a collective responsibility and collaborative approach to planning and development on traditional and shared lands. Such an approach will be necessary for emerging economic development opportunities like the Ring of Fire, one of the most promising mineral development opportunities in Northern Ontario in perhaps a century."
– Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry
"I'm pleased that the province's Northern Ontario Jobs and Growth Initiative includes support for Northern First Nations to gain the skills and training that will enable them to participate in emerging economic development opportunities."
