INAC officials with the FNSSP program visit Cat Lake First Nation with regional program team

On May 26, Eric Grant, INAC's First Nations Student Success Program Manager and Susan Stewart, INAC's FNSSP Ontario Region Program Officer flew to Cat Lake First Nation to visit the community, meet with the school students and staff and meet with the regional FNSSP project team. The Nishnawbe Aski Nation FNSSP project (http://fnssp.knet.ca) is a partnership between Nishnawbe Aski Nation, Kwayaciiwin Education Resource Centre, Northern Nishnawbe Education Council, Keewaytinook Okimakanak - KNet Services, Peawanuck and Mattagami First Nations.

Representatives traveling to Cat Lake First Nation included:

  • Nishnawbe Aski Nation - Dobi Frenette, Ron Marano, Gerry Kerr
  • Kwayaciiwin Education Resource Centre - Roy Morris, Margaret Angeconeb
  • IFNA - Richard Morris (KERC board member)
  • KO-KNET - Brian Beaton, Kirsty Greene

Eric and Susan will be meeting with KO-KNET and KERC teams in Sioux Lookout on Thursday morning before returning to Ottawa.
