At the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), enhanced employment and economic potential for Ontarians is one of our granting priorities. In 2009-2010 OTF invested $2 million in a portfolio of grants that will create opportunities and systems for Ontarians to participate fully in the emerging green economy.
In 2010-2011 we will invest another $2 million in this sector. Through the Future Fund - Building Skills for the Green Economy, we will support the expansion of innovative green jobs and related skills-training programs, as well as partnerships poised to launch a comprehensive skills-training initiative.
If you are doing work that is start up or exploratory at the local or regional level, please contact one of our Community or Province Wide Program Managers as your initiative may be a better fit in our other granting programs.
Proposals are encouraged that focus on groups that have traditionally experienced barriers to employment. These groups include new Canadians, First Nations and Métis people, women, people with disabilities, youth and people living in rural, isolated, or northern locations.
The mission of OTF is to help build healthy and vibrant communities by strengthening the capacity of the voluntary sector through investments in community-based initiatives. Aligned to the OTF vision, mission and established granting priorities, the OTF Future Fund is focused on achieving outcomes in targeted areas that will strengthen Ontario’s future.
OTF introduced the Future Fund in 2007 as part of its commitment to invest in Ontario’s future. The Future Fund supports projects that create significant and sustainable change in a specific area using distinct and innovative approaches.
