Sunday March 21:  The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

Equinox Sunrise Ceremony.  Outside the Rec Centre: 7 am.  In case of bad weather, we will meet in the Youth Centre.    For info call Charles @ 737-9224.

Northern First Nations Hockey Tournament:  Sioux Lookout Arena. 

NGFC Spring Sobriety Pow Wow:   Nishnawbe Gamik Friendship Centre all day. Community Feast @ 5pm.   For info call Chris @ 737-1903.

Community Walk for Solidarity.  Join community members as we walk in support of the elimination of racial discrimination both locally and globally.  We will meet at noon outside St. Andrew’s Church.  For info call Brenda @ 737-0821.

Cedar Bay Family Fun Day.   Cedar Bay Stable and Lakeshore :  1 – 4 pm. A day of outdoor fun including sleigh rides to the lodge for stories and more.  Hosted by Friends of Cedar Bay and Katimavik.  For info call Sandra @ 737-2268 

Monday March 22

Open House at the SLARC Youth Centre.  Noon to 9 pm.  Come by and meet the Youth Centre staff and learn more about our services and activities. We are accessed by the east door of the arena. For info call @ Dan 737-1501 

Tuesday March 23

Film: “Reel Injun”.  Mayfair Theatre: 1:30 and 7:30 pm.  Cree filmmaker Neil Diamond takes an entertaining and insightful look at the Hollywood Indian, exploring the portrayal of North American Natives through a century of cinema.  Hosted by The Sioux Lookout Creative Arts Circle.  Free Admission.   For info call Laurel @ 737-2174.

Wednesday March 24

St. Andrew’s Soup and Sandwich Luncheon.  St Andrew’s Church Hall: 11:30 – 1:30.  Adults $8, children under 8 - $6.  For info call Donna @ 737-1122Remember Me Project.  Sunset Women’s Aboriginal Circle:  1 – 3 pm.  A healing art workshop in remembrance of  Aboriginal women who have gone missing. Saturday March 27

Traditional African Dance Workshops.  Sioux Mountain Public School: 10:30 am and 2:30 pm.  Free registration.  All ages welcome. Please call Brenda @ 737-0821 to register.

Gumboots Dancing Workshops. Sioux Mountain Public School: 1:00 pm and Legion Hall: 7:00 pm.  This unique dance form originates from South Africa gold mines where oppressed workers created their own means of communication.  Free registration.  All ages welcome. Please call Brenda to register @ 737-0821.Every One Has A Story Community Spring Social.  Legion Hall: 7 to 11 pm.  An alcohol-free event for all ages. Multicultural Potluck Feast.  Legion Hall:  5 pm.
