Keewaytinook Okimakanak Community Initiatives receives its first donation

KO Community Initiatives (KOCI) has its first donation.
Peguin Books has given two autographed copies of Joseph Boyden’s Three Day Road and his latest Through Black Spruce.
These books will be auctioned off on E-Bay and the proceeds will be applied to the charitable number of KO.
Boyden won the Giller Prize for fiction last year for Through Black Spruce.
He is Metis and he teaches creative writing in New Orleans. He spends time with his relations canoeing, hunting and fishing in Northeastern Ontario.

KO received a charitable number to raise money in part to fund recreational activities for young people at the community level.
