An Exciting Opportunity to take a New Foundation to the Next Level

Oshki Aa-yaa’aag Mino Bimaadiziiwin (Good Life for Young People) Foundation is currently seeking a resourceful individual with exceptional skills to fill its Chief Executive role. Based in Northwestern Ontario, this individual will work with the Board of Directors to implement its five year business plan, manage the day to day affairs of the organization, and effectively communicate with current and future partners and donors.

Incorporated under Provincial Charter in 2006, the Oshki Aa-yaa’aag Mino Bimaadiziiwin (Good Life for Young People) Foundation is a stand alone not-for-profit charitable organization. An emerging entity originating in Treaty #3 territory, OUR MISSION is bringing to life the dreams and potential of young Aboriginal people across Ontario, with the support of their families and communities. Good Life for Young People will draw together diverse streams of funding, expertise and guidance to make lasting differences in the lives of children, teens and young adults through creative, challenging and culturally affirming activities. Young people will be both leaders and beneficiaries of the Foundation’s efforts.

The successful candidate will possess exemplary leadership skills combined with proven organizational and financial management experience working with Aboriginal peoples and in a not-for-profit environment. As well as:

  • A University degree in business, public administration or a related field; a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Proven executive level skills and abilities; at least 5 years experience in a senior management role
  • Demonstrated success in large scale fund-raising and community philanthropy
  • Knowledge of First Nations governments, culture and traditions.
  • Compelling oral, written and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to speak and understand Anishinaabemowin (Ojibway) is an asset.
