VideoCom (http://videocom.firstnation.ca) researchers from New Brunswick are working with K-Net (www.knet.ca) in Sioux Lookout to host an online video festival.
Together, we will be travelling to two First Nation communities in the Sioux Lookout zone, Mishkeegogamang and Fort Severn.
The community visits will be an opportunity to learn and share information about using video, videoconferencing, and other information and communication technologies (ICT) for community, social and economic development.
The visits will include a Community Video Festival. It will be held in a community room with videoconference facilities. The video festival will be open to all community members, free of charge and VideoCom will provide refreshments. A community Elder will be invited to open and close the event. This will be a fun, educational event for the whole community to view short videos made by members of their community and others in the Sioux Lookout zone.
We are currently searching for fresh videos from First Nations across the region.
Email Cal Kenny (calkenny@knet.ca) one of the following:
Your video has to be in our hands by February 20th!
The Festival will be streamed live from both Communities, so if you can make it to the Festival itself you can still watch your video and everyone else's LIVE.
If you sent us your video(s) your name will be drawn for prizes.
