The Aboriginal Management Council (AMC) at Lakehead University seeks an Aboriginal Member-at-Large. The ideal individual has an interest in Aboriginal education and training, and is committed to promoting the advancement of Aboriginal students in a post-secondary environment. This volunteer position is a two year renewable term with the member having a vote on the AMC and the opportunity to participate on subcommittees of AMC or as an AMC representative on certain Senate committees. The AMC meets once a month during the academic year. Applicants must be of Aboriginal ancestry.
Lakehead University’s Aboriginal Management Council represents the interests and concerns of the Aboriginal community, serving as an official and formal decision-making body. The AMC works with Aboriginal peoples and Lakehead University on issues that affect Aboriginal post-secondary education and support services. The Council seeks the promotion, enhancement, pursuit, availability, and accessibility of Aboriginal post-secondary education.
