Pikangikum First Nation Builds Training Facility - McGuinty Government Investment Will Prepare Workers For New Job Opportunities

Aboriginal workers in Northwestern Ontario will soon be able to train for jobs in forestry, tourism and mining at a new education facility.
With support from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), three classrooms and a residence for instructors will be built to help about 300 individuals train for new careers. The facility will also create new employment for five people, plus local construction jobs.
This project will be managed by the Pikangikum First Nation’s Whitefeather Forest Management Corporation in collaboration with Confederation College.
