Divisional Director, Anishinaabe Student Success-Algoma University
This position is responsible for the management and coordination of services to Anishinaabe students including, but not limited to, student life, cultural support, advising, outreach to prospective students, and community integration. The Divisional Director, Anishinaabe Student Success, is a dynamic lead position that is accountable for developing interdepartmental and comprehensive Anishinaabe services and initiatives. The Divisional Director, Anishinaabe Student Success is a position with management responsibilities that reports to a senior administrator; the roles and responsibilities of the position are of direct interest to the senior administrative committee and Board of Governors and, therefore, the position has a high degree of accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduate degree in related field (undergraduate degree considered if suitable candidate)
• Minimum 3 years working at a post-secondary institution; extensive experience in the area of Anishinaabe services
• Experience with liaison and student services; ability to lead and strategically co-ordinate services
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with excellent organizational skills
• Instructional experience/ability
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required
• Knowledge of Anishinaabe culture/traditions required; Working knowledge of Anishinaabemowin an asset
• Computer proficiency required
