Emergency department for Sioux Lookout Menoyawin Health Centre moving by July 24

The emergency department for Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre will be relocating from the 7th Avenue site to the 5th Avenue site.
The Meno Ya Win Health Centre Board of Directors approved the motion to approve capital expenditure from the Hospital Infrastructure Renewal Fund for the relocation.
“This is an excellent idea that will improve services to our patients,” said Dr. Terry O’Driscoll, chief of staff.
A Meno Ya Win press release said the changes to improve and enhance patient care would allow the health centre to consolidate acute care services and ambulatory care services.
“With all our acute services at one site we can provide safe and high quality patient care,” O’Driscoll said.
The staff will begin to implement their plans to renovate the north wing of the 5th Avenue site to accommodate the emergency department.
The scheduled date for the completion of emergency department and relocation is July 24.
