Tour Algoma University in Sault Ste Marie for free during March Break

Press release

(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – March 3rd, 2009): Curious students can get a preview of university life this upcoming March break, as Algoma University will be hosting a variety of tours and free activities for prospective students during the week of March 16th-20th.

“Thinking about making the transition to university can sometimes be unnerving for students,” says Jenn Reid, Prospective Student Advisor at Algoma University. “Visiting the campus in person is a great way for students to ease those worries by getting a ‘feel’ for what university will be like and by beginning to acquaint themselves with a university’s unique culture.”

Campus tours will be held on Tuesday March 17th and Thursday March 19th from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Participating students will also have the opportunity to meet with professors and sit in on lectures if they so desire. Other free activities taking place throughout the week include: cross-country and downhill skiing, movie night, an Anishinaabe Taco meal, tobogganing and the ever-popular Ice-cream Thursday event.

Guests travelling to Algoma University from outside Sault Ste. Marie will be furnished with free accommodations during their stay. Out of town visitors will also be eligible to receive a partial rebate on their Greyhound tickets if travelling by bus. Alternate touring arrangements can be made for those unable to attend the tours during their scheduled times.
