Matawa and NADF hosting Governance and Economic Development Conference in Thunder Bay

Governance and Economic Development Conference

March 31 & April 1, 2009
Valhalla Inn, Thunder Bay

As part of our regional economic plan and developing good governance in our communities, the Matawa First Nations will be co-hosting a conference with the Nishnawbe-Aski Development Fund on Governance and Economic Development.

The objective of the conference is to bring together First Nation leaders, economic practitioners and the business community to learn and discuss the interdependence between good First Nation governance and economic development.  We also wish to expose our discussions and presentations to our youth as they will be our future leaders.  Therefore we are encouraging our youth to participate in the conference and the agenda reflects their inclusion with role models and workshops specific to them.

For more information or to register, please contact Conference Coordinator Zeatha Arcon at 807-344-4575.

We are excited about our conference as we have an incredible line up of speakers that will impart excellent wisdom for our people that are directly affected by the interrelationship of good governance and economic development in our communities and in the region.
