GET Youth Ministries, a group from North Caribou Lake are once again planning their second prayer walk to their neighbouring community of Muskrat Dam on Feb. 27/28, 2009. This walk will take roughly about 21 hours but the group is very determined and extremely excited.
Their first walk last year was successful and they feel in their hearts that this walk must be done once again.
The purpose of this prayer walk is to pray against "All the social issues our community is facing. Drugs, alcohol, gambling and solvent abuse issues; other social issues; suicide; marriage breakdowns and sickness; prayer for church unity; revival; unsaved loves ones; leadership; community, youth, elders......this is just to name a few....it wasn't for only our community, but for other communities, too...."
Although the weather in the north can be very unpridictable, we are praying that both the weather and temperature will be good.
The group will welcome a very special guest who will be joining in the afternoon. One year old Labron Nate and his grandpa Alex Nate will be joining the group in this walk. Labron, as many have known him as "baby Labron" had cancer during this time but has since been out of the hospital. The GET team is very close to baby Labron and are very excited to have him join them in this walk.
We are inviting all other youth (all ages) who may be interested in joining us in this walk. Of all that is happening in this world, a prayer protection, and a prayer of help is what many of us need during these trying times.
