Ontario Launches Applications To New Relationship Fund

McGuinty Government Encourages First Nations and Métis to Apply

Ontario is now accepting applications for a province-wide program that supports capacity building for First Nation communities and Métis organizations.

Applications must be received by the Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs and postmarked no later than January 16, 2009. Late applications will be considered; however funding will be pro-rated accordingly.

Developed with input from Aboriginal partners, the New Relationship Fund will help First Nations and Métis in Ontario participate in consultations with government and the private sector.

The fund will also enhance and improve business and economic development partnership opportunities, helping to improve the quality of life for Aboriginal communities in Ontario.
