Duties Will Include: The Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services requires a motivated professional to provide probation/parole and conditional sentence services to adult offenders, courts, the Ontario Parole and Earned Release Board and related agencies through assessment, case management, report preparation, enforcement, the development/provision of Ministry programs, and the utilization of community resources. Duties will include flying into  and occasionally spending nights in remote northern communities. The successful candidate will also be required to work closely with local band council representatives and liaise with Community Correctional Workers

Qualifications: Bachelor`s degree from a university of recognized standing, preferably in the social sciences or related discipline; advanced knowledge and experience in applying social work principles and practices, including assessment, counseling, case management, interviewing, rehabilitative/referral sources and strategies; demonstrated knowledge/ability to interpret/apply relevant legislation; demonstrated knowledge of relevant probation and parole programs/casework concepts, courts, legal/related practices; demonstrated experience delivering/facilitating rehabilitative programs; ability to establish/maintain client/stakeholder relationships; well developed problem solving, interpersonal, administrative and communication skills; computer proficiency.

A successful candidate who has not completed the Ministry`s PPO basic training program, and who has not met the experience requirements, will be placed in the PPO 1 salary range ($823.24 – 1040.71/wk).

LOCATION: Based in   Sioux Lookout with  overnight travel to Remote Northern Communities
