Kashechewan First Nation Loses a Council member - community News Release

The Chief and Council of Kashechewan First Nation are sad to annouce the passing of Mr. Earl Reuben. Earl till the end was a Council member in which he was elected August 8 2006.

Mr. Reuben was diagnosed with cancer July/August 2007 and has graciously fought the battle in faith in his redeemer till the end. Earl is survived by his wife Sophia Reuben, 4 sons and 1 daughter and grandchildren. he is alo survived by his mother Mrs. Caroline Reuben, father Mr. Labius Reuben, 5 brothers and 2 sisters and many nieces, nephews, aunties and many friends. Earl was surrounded by his loved ones by his side and many members of the community.

Earl also worked for more than 25 years as a maintenance personel at St. Andrew's School in which he took a long term extended leave last year. Earl also really enjoyed the outddors especially, hunting and fishing. He was what you refer a very good fisherman. Earl was a very loving, caring and compassionate husband,brother,son, uncle and friend to many. He will be sadly and deeply missed.

Chief Jonathan Solomon says, that not only was Earl a colleague in politics but was a very close friend to my family. We will miss his smile and words of wisdom around the Council table. The last time Earl spoke to his people in a public meeting was very touching in which he told everyone that he loved them as his people and that God also loves each and everyone of them. That was very emotional moment and touched the souls and hearts that were present.
