First Nation Women and Youth Resiliency Conference in Thunder Bay this weekend

NAN HOSTS WOMEN & YOUTH RESILIENCY CONFERENCE

THUNDER BAY, ON, Thursday March 13, 2008:  Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Deputy Grand Chief RoseAnne Archibald together with NAN Women’s Council spokesperson Jackie Fletcher, City of Thunder Bay Mayor Lynn Peterson, and Member of Parliament Ken Boschoff will kick off Reach for the Stars: NAN Women and Youth Resiliency Conference during opening ceremonies for the two day conference Saturday.

TIME: 9:00 a.m.

LOCATION: Best Western Nor’Wester Resort Hotel, Thunder Bay, ON

Over 100 women and youth from across NAN territory will gather in Thunder Bay this weekend to participate in workshops and hear presentations by successful women leaders and business professionals.  

Some conference highlights include keynote presentations by Mishkeegogamang Ojibway Nation Chief Connie Gray-McKay and Health Canada’s First Nation Inuit Branch Regional Director Valerie Gideon.
