Ontario's Smart Systems for Health Agency team visits K-Net to discuss connectivity in First Nations

Lonnie Bergstein (Director, Product Marketing) and Adam Mazer (Business Manager for LHINs 13 and 14) traveled to Sioux Lookout for meetings with the K-Net team about broadband connectivity in First Nation and Aboriginal health programs and organizations across Ontario.

A tour of the Sioux Lookout local network facilities including the local fibre loop and headend located at the town library, the 7.4M dish at the watertower and then to the main office at 115 King Street led by Adi Linden, provided the guest with a quick overview of the network and the ongoing administration of the services that are supported.

Arriving at the office, the guests were treated to a traditional feast of bannock, moose, walleye and goose.

A meeting with Janet Gordon from the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority helped to clarify a number of issues and requirements for supporting the region's First Nation health services to develop adequate health services that will support community wellness. more pics
