Call for Abstracts
The Journal of Aboriginal Health (JAH) is the only peer-reviewed journal in the world focusing on the health of First Nations, Inuit and Métis in Canada. Since its inception in 2004, it has become one of the pre-eminent journals in Canada on the health of Aboriginal Peoples.
This is a call for abstracts for papers in the area of Aboriginal traditional health and healing practices for the Journal of Aboriginal Health, Volume 5. Please submit an abstract of 250 words maximum for papers to be considered for publication in Volume 5.
Submitted abstracts should enhance considerations of First Nations, Inuit and Métis traditional medicines, health and healing practices from a variety of writers, including academics and scholars, students, community health professionals, traditional healers, and community members.
Contributions are encouraged from Aboriginal community-based practitioners and/or researchers whose work may involve innovative or traditional approaches to Aboriginal traditional medicine, health and healing practices.

Successful submission will result in an invitation to submit an original, unpublished paper for a blind peer review by both academic and community reviewers. Papers submitted must conform to the JAH’s writing, terminology and style guidelines. Any papers submitted that do not adhere to these guidelines will automatically be rejected. The JAH is a publication of the National Aboriginal Health Organization (NAHO). Incorporated in 2000, NAHO works to influence and advance the health and well-being of all Aboriginal Peoples in Canada by engaging in knowledge-based activities, including research, knowledge translation and community involvement.
