This week when many students were heading back to school one group of local students are celebrating the completion of school.
Thirteen students from the Oshki-Pimache-O-Win Education and Training Institute graduated on Friday.
Oshki develops, designs and delivers post-secondary education and programs to meet cultural and educational needs for Nishnawbe Aski Nation community members.
Students graduated from three programs, Business, General Education and the Community Service Workers Program.
Executive Director Rosie Mosquito said they are adding new courses this year namely Aboriginal Financial and Economic Planning program and the Wellness and Addictions Prevention Program. By holding the grad ceremony in September they hope it will be an incentive for new students to complete their course as well.
This was the first formal graduation ceremony held for Oshki.
