March 21 - International day for the elimination of racism - the struggle continues in Canada

From Indigenous Peoples Issues and Resources facebook page

Photo: On This Day: Every March 21 is observed as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. In 1960, police opened fire and killed 69 people (and wounded another 180) at a peaceful demonstration in Sharpeville, South Africa, against the apartheid pass laws, sparking international calls for an end to racial discrimination. Proclaiming the day in 1966, the United Nations General Assembly called on the international community to redouble its efforts to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination. Please share so that everyone knows you do not support any kind of racism! If we are to save this planet and all of its beauty, we must eliminate all forms of discrimination (racial and otherwise) - we must overcome our "us vs. them" mentality and recognize that we are all in this together. We are all beautiful people!!
