Chiefs of Ontario Oppose the First Nation Education Act

Our children are the future. Let’s give them the education they need to succeed and strengthen our communities for the future.

The Chiefs of Ontario are opposing the conservative government’s First Nation Education Act.

We are calling the federal government’s proposed education bill a step backward and it will set a collision course with First Nations in the future.

The conservative government released the federal government document “A Proposal for a Bill on First Nation Education” in October. The federal government says it will receive feedback on this proposal up to early January 2014 and this will precede any tabling in Parliament of legislation on a First Nation Education Act.

This is our time to have our voices heard.
