You are welcome to join us on Monday, Nov 4 in UNB Fredericton Carleton Hall room 205 at 12:15 to 1:15pm - in person or online. The event will be of interest to anyone interested in First Nations / Indigenous communities, colonialism and technology. This lunch-time event will:

  • launch SOCI 2804, the new online course in the Winter 2014 term: Colonialism, Development and the e-Community - an undergrad course, also available to graduate students as an audit (non-credit) course  
  • briefly present the SSHRC-funded research project, First Nations Innovation (FNI), that is sponsoring the new online course and leading the related research 
  • introduce the FNI research partners - Keewaytinook Okimakanak in Ontario, the First Nations Education Council in Quebec, and Atlantic Canada's First Nation Help Desk / Mi'kmaw Kina'matnewey in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia - who will be joining us online.
