VIDEO TITLE: Community Based Land Use Planning in the Far North of Ontario and the Far North Land use Strategy

OBJECTIVE:    This video will help to build awareness and understanding of community based land use planning and the Far North Land Use Strategy from a First Nations perspective.

DISTRIBUTION:  The video must be available in high and lower quality for viewing as a DVD through community TV stations and online through the MNR and community websites.

STORYLINE:  The story of community based land use planning and how it relates to the Far North Land Use Strategy, from a First Nations perspective will be told in four (5 minute) segments through documentary style interviews and storytelling. Video interviewees will be coordinated by the Joint Working Group.

Segment One: Describe Land Use Planning in the context of First Nations history and perspective through an animated retelling of a legend with linkages to community based land use planning 

Segment Two: Provide a history of First Nation planning and explain the process of planning with Ontario including an outline of the stages of community based land use planning and terminology.  

Segment Three:  Explain the process of land use planning and how the planning team works together with highlights from the plans that have been completed so far.

Segment Four:  Describe the Far North Land Use Strategy and how it fits in with land use planning.
