INDIGENOUS FILM FESTIVAL SEEKS INDEPENDENT FILMS
THUNDER BAY, ON

It is with great enthusiasm that the Biindigaate Indigenous Film Festival is
calling for film
submissions for its 5th Annual festival scheduled to
run from September 27-29 in Thunder Bay Ontario.
The deadline for submissions is: August 15, 2013
Biindigaate means "The Light Shining In" in Anishnawbemowin and reflects opportunities for filmmaker and artists to share their special stories on the big screen and through the festival's multi-layered programming and outreach. This festival also has an art exhibit and music showcase that features top-notch Indigenous artists from the region and across Canada.
Founded as a collective and held in the traditional territory of the Anishinabek in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Biindigaate is the only Indigenous film festival between Winnipeg and Toronto. Since 2009, the Biindigaate Indigenous Film Festival has shown over 160 films and welcomed collaboration and participation in art shows, music, discussion and other celebrations of First Nations, Metis and Inuit identity.
