AANDC's Aboriginal Art Acquisition Program accepting submissions to Feb 15, 2013
Local Aboriginal artists are encouraged to submit their work for the Aboriginal Art Acquisition Program.
Submissions are being accepted until February 15, and the chosen pieces will be showcased at the Aboriginal Art Collection in Gatineau, Quebec.
Collections Coordinator Kevin Gibbs says artists must be at least 18-years-old and be of First Nations, Métis or Inuit ancestry.
Eligibility criteria:
- Only two-dimensional artworks will be accepted for this deadline
- This includes: drawings, paintings, photography, limited edition prints, and textiles (tapestries, wall hangings, etc.)
- Artworks must be in excellent condition and available for shipping and purchase
- Artworks must be created after 2007 and preferably be unframed and unmated
- Dimensions of artworks must not exceed 1.82 m x 1.82 m; 6' x 6'
Submission requirements:
- A completed application form.
- A list of five (5) two-dimensional works of art with five (5) digital images
- Format: JPG format only
- Size: 17.7 cm X 12.7 cm ; 7'' x 5''
- Resolution: no more than 100 dpi on CD or by e-mail)
- An artist biography. (Please see attached form)
- Please do not send original artworks with your application
