Wasaya Charter Hawker destroyed by fire during fuel drop off at Sandy Lake First Nation

At 12:43 pm local time, on June 12th 2012, a Wasaya Charter Hawker Siddley 748, performing a routine fuel drop off, caught fire at the Sandy Lake Airport tarmac. At this time it is not known how the fire started. No one was injured.

The Chief and Council are appreciative that the Ministry of Natural Resources that happened to be based in the community, were quick to respond and tok charge of the situation along with Local Fire Department, NAPS, and local Band Constables.
