On August 4, 2001, when a turbulent storm hit Northwestern Ontario with raging winds and thunderous clouds, there was a casualty in Sandy Lake, Ontario. A dog was struck by lightning outside his home and continued to breathe for a few minutes after the incident. He lay smoking outside his home while his owners tried to revive him to no avail. The dog's name was "Arms" and he will be sadly missed by the family that took him in. His remains were returned to the earth nearby his home in the dense woods. Owners name(s) are withheld at the their request.
