Honouring the Waters Indigenous Water Conference
July 18 to 21 in Sault Ste Marie

TORONTO, July 15, 2011 /CNW/ - Please be advised that the Honouring the Waters Indigenous Water Conference will take place next week and will bring together First Nations from within Ontario and Great Lakes Basin Tribal leadership to discuss, plan, and strategize how to maintain, preserve, and protect the waters. This conference will be focused on the key themes of: history, jurisdiction, healthy water, and creating a path forward. The conference will be live-streamed online by both Nationtalk.ca and Indiancountrytv.com. (This will be the first time that Indigenous organizations, on both sides of the Canada/US border, will be partnering to broadcast an important event directly affecting the lives of North American Indigenous Peoples.)

When:

The conference will take place from July 18th to the 21st, 2011. The live streaming will begin at 9:00 a.m. on July 18 on nationtalk.ca and indiancountrytv.com and will be broadcast until 5pm. The same schedule will be adhered to on July 19 and 21. There will be a broadcast after 10:45 a.m. on July 20.

The live video will be featured on the front pages of nationtalk.ca and indiancountrytv.com. The conference will take place at the Comfort Suites and Conference Centre, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
