Keewaytinook Okimakanak is seeking a self-motivated individual to perform the duties of a band administrator for McDowell Lake First Nation.
Reporting to the Keewaytinook Okimakanak Finance Manager and McDowell Lake First Nation Chief & Council, you will be responsible to assume the duties of the Band Administrator as follows:
• The administrator is subject to First Nation policies, regulations and procedures jointly administers the affairs of McDowell Lake First Nation.
• Oversees the affairs and programs of the Band including:
1. Infrastructure
2. Housing
3. Community Planning
4. Financial Management
5. Lands & Trusts
6. Membership
7. Economic Development
8. By-Law Management
9. Office Management
10. Education
11. Health
• Process all financial transactions on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with McDowell Lake First Nation policies and procedures and regulatory requirements to include:
1. Accounts Payable
2. Accounts Receivable
3. Payroll
4. Bank Reconciliations
5. Prepare all necessary account reconciliations
6. Process all financial reports for Keewaytinook Okimakanak on a quarterly basis
7. Perform all other office duties such as photocopying, faxing and filing.
8. Submit recommendations related to sound financial management including financial regulations.
• Prepare, submit and oversee proposals and submissions.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
• Computer literate in software programs such as: Wordperfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
• Certificate/Degree in accounting or finance
• Strong listening and communication skills
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Good knowledge of First Nation environment
• Simply Accounting Software experience would be an asset
