Online "Virtual Summit" for First Nation Students on Post-secondary Education

Assembly of First Nations Convenes Online "Virtual Summit" for First Nation Students on Post-secondary Education

OTTAWA, Jan. 18 /CNW/ - Assembly of First Nations National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo, along with First Nation students from across the country, will be participating in an online "Virtual Summit" to explore issues and solutions relating to First Nation post-secondary education. National Chief Atleo is inviting First Nation students to participate in this online discussion to discuss their post-secondary experiences and provide recommendations on how to enhance opportunities for student success. The online discussion will be hosted by Vancouver Island University. The discussion will inform the AFN work on post-secondary education with the overall goal of increasing First Nation PSE graduation rates.

In addition, several post-secondary institutions across Canada will be full participants in the Virtual Summit. The Assembly of First Nations invites universities, colleges, and Indigenous institutes of higher learning to create opportunities for First Nation students to participate in this special Virtual Summit.
