New Business Centre Coming To Kasabonika Lake - McGuinty Government Supports Economic Development In Northern Communities

October 8, 2010 - Kasabonika Lake First Nation is planning to build a new multi-purpose facility that will provide the community with 16 new jobs and improve quality of life.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is supporting Kasabonika Lake First Nation to build a 17,000-square foot business centre that will house a restaurant, grocery store and an eight-unit hotel. The centre will be appropriately sized to meet the community's growing needs and will serve as an economic hub for visitors and residents.

This funding is part of the Open Ontario plan to strengthen northern communities by providing jobs and new economic opportunities.
